Harlow Town Centre North
Welcome to the website on Harlow Town Centre North, the major regeneration project for the northern quarter of Harlow’s town centre.
The regeneration plans will re-integrate Harlow Town Centre North with the rest of the town and include proposals for new shops, a hotel, businesses and homes alongside transformed public spaces, a remodelled bus interchange, new library and entertainment facilities.
The plans total 1.3 million sq ft of new development and are being brought forward by Harlow Council, Harlow Renaissance and a range of other partners.
The planned redevelopment will transform the town centre, helping to improve the quality and attractiveness of Harlow's shopping experience.
This website provides full details of the latest plans, the proposed timetable for development and how you can input into the design process. It also details the Council’s plans to procure a new development partner following Stockland’s withdrawal from the scheme after its decision to leave the UK as a result of global financial conditions. Please visit out timetable page to find out more about the programme for delivery.
The public’s response to the proposals to date has been overwhelming. Nine out of ten people during the 2009 consultation felt the area was in need of redevelopment and eight out of ten felt that the proposals on display were a good way to provide regeneration.
We hope you find this website helpful and please let us know your comments on these exciting proposals
